The Sketchbook Projet 2011 Tour

I must be braver than I think or simply grazy. From a friend at facebook I found out about this project and signed in. Just a minute ago. And now I wonder whether I will live up to it. But then again my husband always says I need pressure to get things done - so the pressure is on. I have never had or used a sketchbook so this will be really an adventure and a lot of fun. If you'd like to find out what this is all about here is where you have to go: The Sketchbook Project 2011.

In short, after you sign in you will receive a moleskine. Each artist is sent the same blank Moleskine sketchbook. There are only two rules: first, the book must be used in some way - no sending back an empty book or a completely different book! Second, the sketchbook must stay within its original dimensions. You have to choose a subject from a list - I chose "in five minutes" and don't ask me why because I don't know.
Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the USA. After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.
Anyone - from anywhere in the world - can be a part of the project and this is one reason I decided to participate. The project is located in the States but everybody from wherever you live can be part of this.

I will keep you informed as to how it goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Sign up by October 31, 2010, the deadline is January 15, 2011 and the books will go on tour March 2011. I am so excited.

Gerade habe ich etwas getan, was mich an meiner Zurechnungsfähigkeit zweifeln läßt.
